input jacks [message #73] Mon, 19 June 2000 22:34 Go to next message

On the 150 and 250 series kustom heads, the lower jack on each channel has a lot more gain than the top input jack of the same channel. It was used to match a wide variety of pickups. The lower input makes the amp a lot more responsive.

While we are on the subject of input jacks...let's talk about the 100-200-400 series as well. For my use, the bright jack serves no purpose...I never input to it and if I am connecting to another channel or amp I really want it to be the same as the normal jack. If I cut one lead on the capacitor ( or what ever the infernal thing is....we know I am not technical) on the jack will that solve my concern..or will I have to remove it completely? BC!

Brad, you can just cut it out and place a jumper wire in it's place, otherwise it won't work. The cap is a .0047uf. You might try and substitue it with a diferent value and see if you can get it close to the low input , but with some added brightness. about anything will work. .022, .047 etc.
