So....BC drives from Kentucky to Carbondale, IL then on to the Mattoon {Central, IL}. Me coming from North of Chicago to meet at Roys place! BC and I doing a little JBL Trading and BC bringing up my new Red Frankenstein he made me buy! Roy and Kathy have the BBQ smoking when we get there - Beer, Brats and Burgers! Life is too good! I bring down a 3x15 bottom in black that I figure I'd make Brad take home with him - But alas! He has the Camry! TOO SMALL YOU SAY? HA....move the seats - do a bit of tugging and pushing - It's in the CAR! Now he can't get it out, so I charge him an extra $25! Then a bit of BC and Roy jammin' in the "Studio" and then the return 250 mile trip for both of us. I have posted the proof on the PIC site under the MISC. Page - Where there is a will, there is a way! Jc http://www.kustomplayer.com/Picturepage.html?1046893706300

Hey JC - you made good time getting back home. I still can't believe we got that tall cabinet in that Camry! Just wait 'til they try to get it back out..... Cathy and I enjoyed both your's and BC's company. And guess what! Cathy cooked enough brats and burgers to feed everyone here! I'll be eating leftovers for a long time! We even had some leftover beer!

leftover beer!!!?...JC?! ya know you can only get a 2x15 in the back seat of a 78 comaro Z28...speaks to the design skills of our friends from Japan.. I think all cars especially the SUV braggers should be measured in musician terms for cargo space. I'm envious guys...sounds like a real good day. Hope that was a clean 3x15.. I need a couple more myself so I'll have to hit BC up for it when next we meet.

Just think.....if I'd had a Camry sedan back in 71....instead of a 65 Mustang...I could have bought a 3x15 instead of a 2x15. I feel very close to the cabinet....especially when we are in the car! Actually with the help of a friend I was able to extricate the beast without using the "jaws of life" We really had a great day at Roy's place. Cathy is a great cook and was not turned off by all the Kustom and music talk. I am ready to go back. Hey Roy....since I am on strike do you need another tractor driver? I wish all of you could have been there and seen my frustration when I discover JC has brought the 3x15 and I am in a CAMRY! I found myself drifting away from the conversation and staring at the Kustom wondering how in the world I am going to move it! The ultimate laugh came when Roy suggested a way that it might actually go in.....and IT DID! JC expected me to drive the hearse....as it recently returned to road duty and is running better than ever I might ad. However, with gas prices being what they are in my area.....and they seem to climb 10 cents per gallon every hundred miles you go north.....driving a 13mpg Cadillac horizontal limousine did not seem the practical thing to do. Believe me when I say it was close in the car. I could hardly move the shifter as the cabinet was right against it on the right side....but I had a very nice arm rest! Many thanks to JC, Roy and Cathy for a great day! If you have not seen the picture...check the link listed in JC's original post! BC

Gee, where to start. . . I'm glad to hear you got the cab out because that picture conjures up all sorts of images. Like, the professor at my college who built a boat in his basement during the winter and discovered in the spring he couldn't get it out. Or, my brother-in-law who did the same thing with a dog house. Or even that scene in Animal House involving a dead horse and the Dean's office. Glad to hear you had better results! Actually, I think you may have stumbled onto another use for classic Kustoms. If you could just hook that cab up to your car stereo you'd have one bad rolling boom box . . . Long live tuck and roll!
