I've come along this old beat up Kustom head - from looking at catalog images, i believe it's a K200, but i can't seem to find any kind of serial or model number anywhere on it. How can i identify exactly what model i've got here?

If it is a 200 "B" series it will say (((200))) on the front. A K200A series amp will have "By Ross Inc" in small letters instead of the 200 designation on the front panel. There were also some other model designations used during the "A" series period that involved price or speaker cabinets so the serial number would come into play. As for the number suffix 1,2,3,4,5 or 6 it will depend on what effects if any are on the amp. This should get you started...get back to us on the effects and we will narrow it down to the right model.... and congrats on being a KUSTOM owner! BC

One cig......I think that is the best deal I have heard of on a Kustom.....that is better than FREE! I am willing to trade a whole carton for it! The real stuff....and I am from KY where we grow tobacco.Laughing Nothing wrong with the black amps....just ask ET! SO how about the Effects? BC

You mean it smells like cig smoke, or other things.2 years ago a got a 200 head from a friend that had been out in a shed of years. When I went to slide the amp out of the cab to see why it did not work I could not slide it out all the way. Their was a grape fruit sized mouse nest in it, and their collective pee over time had, and I kid you not, melted holes in the aluminum chassie. And then those chunks of chassie fused themself to the cab bottom. What a stench! To this day I can not figure out how they got in thru that little gap at the top back of the amp!

Mice can literally compress themselves into a hole you would never believe. That slot on the top is HUGE compared to the biggest mouse. Mice are also the greatest hazard to cars that have been sitting for a long time. This is a true story. I have a Gibson ES335 that was hanging on a wall mount. You know the type. Well I picked up the guitar one day and there was something rattling around and I shook it out only to pour out wheat seeds. My wife has all of these decorating supplies and arrangements in the basement also. The mice were taking the seeds, going up the wall, over to the guitar running down the neck, onto the pick guard and into the F-hole where the electronics are. Then they would repeat the process. I would presume the other F-hole was not accessable to them because they could not get grip in the slippery surface of the guitar. Because a 335 has the solid block down the center the seeds were only in one half of the guitar. A few traps later and now that summer is coming, the mice are out of the house. I should add that a mouses head can only compress so much.

I know, my 70 GTO sat for 6 months last year awaiting new tires. It had developed a little rot hole in one rear wheel well. One got in and chewed numerous hols in my once perfect headliner not to mention peeing all over my new carpet. When I got it I gave it to the next door cats while it was still alive, just for some torture.
