I haven't actually cracked the shell on the thing to see if it's something simple or not, but I'm getting no signal from the RCA jack off my K200-B5. Is there anything that is a common problem in this department or something specifically I can look for, presuming it's not a bad solder joint or broken wire?

Thanks in advance.

I would guess that the jacks tip connection has never been used and so has tarnished and corroded over.
Get some Deoxit spray or radio shack spray contack cleaner applyed to a Q-tip to get in to the center and remove the crap.
What I have also done in a pinch is to place some tooth paste made with baking soda on a Q-tip to polish off the tarnish, then you have to go back in with more Q-tips to remove the un-used tooth paste, but it works and is cheaper than a 8 dollar can of contack cleaner!

I own an eyeglass repair shop and we're abundantly stocked with Dremel tools and all kinds of burs, grinding stones, polishing buffers, etc. Miniature sizes, of course. I may pull that RCA out and give it the royal polish treatment. I take it that's the most likely culprit. I'll try to get to that today. I'll let you know how I fare with it.

Thanks

OK, knocked the oxidation off the jack and the spade terminal, both male and female, and i'm getting a signal now. There's a ton of hiss going on, though. I have some in the amp itself, but much more coming off that RCA jack to my powered mixer. And the sound is pretty thin. I guess I'll just mic the cabinet when I need to and forget the RCA.

Anyway, thanks for the help this morning, Steve.

If you can solder and can post me your fax number, on Monday I can fax you a very simple circuit you can make to tap signal off of the amps speaker output to feed your mixer.
A lot of hiss could be a indication that one or more transistors are becoming noisy.

No problem about soldering. I do it often on one thing or another. Problem with the fax thing, though. I don't have one. I would like that circuit, though, if you have it on computer. If so, you can email it to me at optykk@gmail.com. If not, I'll see if one of my neighbors has a fax.

Thanks again.

Hi, the line out is quite simple, just two 1/2 watt resistors or you can replace one resistor with a pot if you need a volume control.
place a 2.2k resistor inbetween the amps hot/jacks tip connection, then place one endo of a 270 ohm resistor on the non-kustom amp side of the 2.2k resistor, and the other end of the 270 ohm resistor goes to the ground side of the plug or jack, it makes no difference since you are jumping the sleve/ ground connection between both items IE amp to amp, or amp to mixer.
If you need a volume control you can replace the 270 ohm resistor with a 500 ohm pot.
