I have a new Weber 15" speaker to put in a single 15" cabinet.....dumb question---do I have to make sure that the pos lead from the speaker jack goes to the positive terminal on the speaker and vice versa? Or does it really matter in a single speaker cabinet? How do I tell which is the positive lead terminal off of the speaker jack if I need to make sure the pos lead wire goes to the pos terminal on the speaker?? THX all!

Actually, the correct way to wire this depends on the speaker you have. You want to make sure that when positive voltage is applied the speaker cone moves outward. So, take a 9 volt battery and touch the poles to the wires, positive to positive, and neg to neg and watch the front of the speaker. If the cone moves out towards the front then wire the tip of the jack to the positive (red) wire. If when you do this battery test, it moves backwards, then hook the neg to the positive and recheck. Either way, your goal is to get the speaker to move out towards the front of the cab when you apply voltage. That is so the phase of the speaker wil be right and sound the best.
