hey guys, I'm not a very experienced tech guy, but my dad is, and I probably should ask him first before I embarrass myself on the good ol' kustom board, but what the hell. So I got this kustom 300 pa, and I love it, but I wanna incorporate a rack mount effects unit for more reverb/effect options. At this point, I'm stuck running a mic line through the rack unit and out into one of the inputs of the kustom to get an effect. But if I wanna run more than one thing with that effect, I'm kinda screwed. My question is, has anyone here kustomized there amplifiers to have an In & Out of the back to incorporate an effect rack?
Also, 1 more question. With my 250-2, I've taken the reverb out and forgot which way is right side up, the cables coming out of the top or bottom? Thanks everybody.

Oh Boy Steve, you are asking for trouble with that last one. If I read it correctly, you are saying take the signal from whatever is plugged into the input channels of the 300 and send it out from the line out and then return it to another input? Instant feed back if the signals are in phase. Uncontrolled feedback, maybe damaging feedback. Better yet, if there is a signal wire from the preamp mixer to the power amp, break the wire and send it into a line out jack and then back in to the power amp with a second jack. Instant effects loop. If you use a Switchcraft 12A jack for the output, you can set it up to bypass the effects loop when nothing is plugged into it. It wouldn't be difficult and the levels would be usable for most rack mount devices. I am most familiar with K100 and K200 units but if the power amp is a separate PC board that would be a piece of cake.

Well the k300 like the k2500 should have a tape/recorder 1/4 inch out jack, this signal is taken right off the output stage thru a 100k resistor.
If you take the signal out from that into the outboard unit , and then back down into a channel it should be ok, but I would still, like you mention open up the units output send slowly in case it does turn into a screaming feed back loop. I do this all the time when I gig with my board. Its only got one effects send and I run 2 delay units, so one gets run back down into a channel, which also makes it nice to be able to re-EQ that return signal.
The K250 also has the power module output jack for the added powered cabinet to make it a k500, this signal is taken off the preamp output into the driver board.I do not know if its in phase or out of phase with the record out jack?I supose I could test it just for kicks over the weekend.
