VERY CAREFULLY!!!!!
To replace the bulb you need to remove the blue lens cap, push button. This cap pulls straight out of the front of the switch. Care must be taken when trying to get the cap off, because if you angle the cap too much, you risk damaging the plastic mounting ferrule, which can make the switch useless.
If your switch is already broken and is being mounted with two cable ties, then just be careful not to damage it any more than it already is.
If you remove the chassis from the cabinet and remove the top metal cover, you can look down from the top and see the back side of the switch cap. You can try and push the cap out with a couple of small screwdrivers. Try and push the cap evenly so that it comes straight out and not at an angle.
The alternative way is to try and remove the cap from the outside of the amp without removing the chassis. If you take two small screwdrivers or ice picks, something to poke into the sides of the cap and pull or pry the cap straight out. I have used strong duct tape stuck to two sides of the cap to pull it out.
Once the cap is off, you need to take a short length of rubber hose or heat shrink tube to slip over the old bulb so that you can unscrew it from the socket. I made a tool from a 3" piece of 1/8" diameter dowel rod with a short piece of rubber tube pushed on the end of it. The rubber tube that I used was a piece from a Strat pickup mounting kit.
Once the old bulb is out, then stick the new one into the rubber tube and screw it into the socket and pull out the rubber tube.
Finally just press the cap back in, again being careful to keep from angling it too much as to damage the switch mounting ferrule. Due to the notches in the sides of the white plastic sleeve, the cap will only fit in one orientation. Make sure that you have the notches correctly lined up before inserting the switch cap.

the GE 335 screw base blubs worked for me. Both my polarity and power lights were out. The switches themselves are also wearing out. The power switch still pushes in ok, but the polarity switch has cracks in it and is held up with small washers. Any one who knows where to get a few of those old push-in switches would be appreciated.
