I have a Ampeg SVT3 Pro, a Gallien Krueger 400 and I swear my black Kustom 200 sounds better than both of them!! The pots get kinda scratchy if i dont exercise them, but it sounds so smooth rounded and clean. I use the PA speakers for rockabilly twang, its extremely loud and clear, all original Altecs in there i believe.
The gold head is in amazing condition. The back panel is perfectly black and clean.
I couldnt resist the Commander, I think I got it for like 220 or 250$.
I called the new Kustom amp company and had them send me new logos for my PA and the modern cabinet
I think im tapped out on the kollection unless, I see my first love (a nice cascade).
or a Frankie head (good luck with that!) I saw a silver Frankie on the site earlier, killer!!
or a nice 4x10 combo, or a...stop me now!!

Ya i just moved here from many years in AZ. And ya'll be happy to know every one of these amps survived 2500+ miles in the back of a uhaul truck with no damage. The only amp that broke was my Randall combo, made in the PRC! If that doesent say somethiing about these things!!!
The PA is definitely silver and the gold head I guess may be discolored silver, it also has some cool green/gold spots on it, like a toning on a fine collectors coin!
Its hard to believe these things are pushing 50 years old!!

Ya i find Kustom collecting to be a fairly inexpensive hobby. Obviously the rare minty pieces should be worth more, but I like the fact you can still get a nice amp for less than 300$ I think I paid less than $250 for both the gold and blue ones.
I consider myself to be the caretaker of the equipment until i pass it on. The board members that actually understand the internals and electronics have my respect. I hope one day i can dive into one of these an do some repairs. A project Kustom would be fun to bring back to working status. I know the electronics are "basic" but im sure that one crucial part can be hard to find sometimes.
I wonder if some of the senior techs on here would consider a youtube series like Kustom Electronics 101 or something like that and help pass on some knowledge of the amps.
