Hey music freaks!
Check this out! I need help. I got a man who brought a Kustom 250 into the shop. The problem is the cabinet underneath. The model says 2G+1h h. Any ideas what this is exactly. Any help would be appreciated.

Check the literature section for 250 guitar amps for the model number.....the explanation is there. I am not certain how that pertains to the switch? The 250s are known for having power switch problems after all these years (last ones built in 74?)...and the replacement is no longer in production. Most folks install a new switch in the rear of the head and bypass the original if this is your problem. Hope this helps! BC Cool

soory about the misunderstanding. I think the cabinet with the two 15 inch speakers did not come with this model. I think it was switched out with another kustom model. I know most 250's came with a quad cabinet this size, but this cabinet looks like it didn't come with the head. The model number came with the cabinet itself only.

Actually, th 2G-1H is a 2x15 with a horn. This replaced the police siren horn in the new 150-250-300-500-600 series. I have seen very few 4x12 cabinets. I have seen a 500 with 2 4x12 cabinets on Ebay in recent weeks, but that is the only one. Most times there is a K200 with a 2x15 or 3x15 cabinet. The horn was to be for lead guitar work but that seems a little too harsh. The model number of the cabinet usually included a J for Jensen, L for JBL, A for Altec and C for CTS I have no idea what the G is for. It just says special design speaker. If you check some more posts, we refer to the cabinets by their configuration, 2x15, 3x15, 3x15 siren etc. The later versions have less appeal than the Frankenstein or K200A or B series. Sorry Deb. But that doesn't mean that they don't have a following, just that the Kustom tuck and roll was already falling out of favor by the time the 150-250 series was being introduced.

This has helped me out tremendously! I own a music store, but I only sell brand new. The gentleman that brought this in wanted to sell this on consignment, but after looking for several hours, I could not find one that had a cone. The "G" follows the model number (spaced out a little far), so I didn't know if this pertained to a special type or not. The 2x15 cabinet looks brand new, but I wanted to get as much info as I could before selling it on-line. Your description of information helped.

While you are on this website, scoot over to the literature section and check out the amp catalogs from the 60's and 70's. That might give you an idea just what Kustom sold during that period. Where Fender and Marshall might have had a small handful of products, Kustom had more options than a fully loaded Cadillac. Besides, that would be a nostalgic trip into that mind numbing time known as the 60's

I hope this doesn't sound condesending, but it is on the left, the little red tuck and roll icon that says "Literature". It's right under "Main" and right above "Webboard". I have never gotten to this webboard any other way than from "VintageKustom.com" so of you arrived any other way then maybe you don't see it. I guess I'm a little confused.

I went ahead and instead of going through my email, I went to www.vintagekustom.com. you're right, I was coming in from a different route. Yes, i found the amp and cabinet too. Now i know they do go Confused
