Hey Ray.,..welcome to the site and all the krazies! You've happened across what we all call the new kustoms. It is a legit rig...made by (for) the rightfull owners of the kustom logo right here in the good ol USA (Cincinatti to be exact). they have their own web site, but I don't think they have any literature posted on the tuck n roll series anylonger...it was a bad effort for them...well.. a bad experience for them, a bad effort on their part. There are several models and cabinet options and many of the rigs can be found still new in the box..see ebay for some. Jenson speakers, and the look, although I've heard some strong negatives about the level of quality. I've not seen one nor played one in person, I had a disapointing run in with their sales guy early on and vowed not to give a flyin flip for em, but that's got nothing to do with the rigs...you might enjoy them and that's what's important...well, what's most important is that you look kool, and play loud! ET

My son bought a TRT100 and a 2x15 cabinet. This was before e-Bay. The first cab was a covering disaster. We returned it and the second one came through with fork lift damage and the third is pretty good. The head is quite nice. It has good gain and the channel switching works well. Overall, the sound is decent but nothing remarkable. That may be the 15's. Since than we have purchased a number of vintage pieces that we use constantly. The old timers are still the best.

Hi, these are the new tuck and roll amps as of the last 4 or 5 years. yes they are made in china, but designed here. I have both the 400 watt rms bass tube/ solid state amp with a 4 10 cab and a 2 15" cab. And I have the 100 watt full tube amp, yup, fully tube with the exception of the reverb drive and recovery section. Yes 12ax7s and 6L6gc out puts with torrodal power and output transformers. The cab is a 4 12" on casters as is the 2-15". all the cabs come with jensen spks.Over the winter I would like to offer this great site a review of both of these in detail since their are some large changes between the new and old ones! And I have heard that these new ones now have been discontinued

Hey Steve, I look forward to your review, just haven't had an amp local to mess with, but had to wonder what 400 watts sounded like on those hybrids. I've only heard rumors, and read the one ebay guy's account of how he acquired his warehouse full of new kustoms so I just don't know what really happened with the tuck effort for the Ohio boys, but yes, they are definitely out of the biz of making the vintage rigs...a real shame..cause during their time at it I"ve seen numerous commercials using vintage rigs, and everthing from the Kravitz American Woman vid for Austin Powers to Sherry Crow's latest tour running tuck n roll. my company does biz with China, in particular Shanghai and I cantell you that its always a crap shoot, so I am empathetic to the alledged kustom woes. In China, you can get prompt production and an amazing amount of overruns beyond what you thought possible to make, or you can get design holdups that kill your biz and shipping carelessness that winds up with a boat full of junk. I think that these amps will be important as time goes by and now that the A-holes at kustom are not involved, nor will enjoy the profit, I may snagg a rig somewhere along the way when the price is more than right, but I am concerned about reports of quality issues and would likely continue to spend my hard earned toy money on the vintage kustoms. I truly do hope that you enjoy your rigs though and I look forward to hearing more about them...Play Loud! ET

I would be interested in hearing the results too. I know these are not as well made as the vintage amps, cause I have owned both. I bought the new TRH400 bass head w/ 2x15 and 4x10, too. Any way you look at it, some of the new & old technology at 400 watts @ 4 ohms is impressive. I hooked up the 400w head to a Peavey 8x10 cabinet and the sound was awesome, whether on tube or solid state. Its not as good, but to me, some of the old Kustom sound is there. Jerry.

Let me tell you folks, the power and sound of the 400 watt bass head thru the good JBLs, ALTECs, and ELECTRO VOICEs I have in my vintage cabs is top shelf! The tube channel of the amp has a little more white noise then I would like, and I will be working on a cure/mod for that over the winter and present it here.

Yes, that is one of the new kustoms that were made in china like I have. The cab with 4-12s jensens is the size of your average 4-12 marshall or highwatt cab, but taller because of the casters.
