I bought a Kustom sc 4x10 combo in black T+R and I love it. None of my friends have seen or heard anything like it. I think my landlord is going to evict me because I play it too loud. One problem though. The Reverb doesn't want to work at all. As I turn the switch on and roll it up I lose tone. Not a whole lot of tone, But it's noticeable. What do ya'll think the problem is. Think I can fix it myself?

Hi, You may have one of three problems.(1)one of the two cables to the reverb pan has come unpluged, or one of the two cables are bad.(2)The pan is missing as was 4 out of the 6 kustoms with reverb I own was.(3) The pan is bad. When Kustom changed to the 1971 metal face amps from the plexi face, they finaly included a reverb lock so the pan would not get damaged when you cart the amp around. The 150s 250s 300PAs and 600PAs models have some of the best sounding reverb around other than a old ampeg amp. On these models they added a tone control on the reverb, Any way about 4 months ago I did a post on replacement pans, and provided a accutronics part number that you can order from the ampwares site. Look back and see if you can find it, if not I will go back to my notes to get the part number for you.

Thanks for the reply. I wish I could check it out, but, (and I hate to admit this}, I cant figure out how to get to it. The whole back is closed off. I'm sure there's an easy way, but I can't figure it out. I did find your part number listing, though and if I can figure out what I need then I'll be all set. Think you could give me a few tips on opening the back of my amp up? Thanks

Hi, remove all the screws from the back of the cabinet, remove the the back board, then the the underside of the board the the amp is sitting on remove the for screws that hold it in. Then unplug the speaker jack and slide the head out. The reverb pan is sitting on top of the chasis.

Guess what? I figured out how to get into the amp last nigt. It was too easy. I got the reverb pan out and when I looked in I think I figured out why it isn't working. The springs run across the pan longways and on the inside there are little wires, (one black and one green), run from the ends of the springs to the input/output jacks. the wires that run to the output jack are broken off an I'm going to buy a soldering gun and solder them on this evening. I'm not sure which wire goes to which terminal. There are two wires and two places where they broke off, but I'm going to try them both ways and if it still doesn't work then I'll just buy another reverb pan off of the Ampwares site. They have the replacement pan for $30.00. Anyway, thanks a lot for the help and if you can think of any more advice then send it on down. Later, Jake

Hey, the black is ground and the green goes to what would be the center terminal of the RCA jack.
