i have a challenger from the Jul-Dec 1972-era ... needs a new speaker. having trouble trying to decide what to buy --> appreciate any clarification on the spec of a speaker (is it 25 watt / 8-ohm) and then brand name (leaning toward a Jensen).

many thanks!

The first thing to do may be to think about how much you want to spend. The jensen reissue model C12N may have been original to your kustom model. Two other good choises would be the Eminence model swamp thing in 8 ohms, or if your wallet can handle about a 135 dollar outlay, the red fang is a killer speaker that is 98 % of a celestion blue alnico model for half the price.I have both of these speakers and a k100 cabinet with original C12Ns, and as good as the jensens are, the eminence models are much puncher. The jensens can be a little spikey on top with single coil pick ups, the added mid and smoother top of the eminence ones is nice!
