The speakers should be 16 ohms each wired in parallel for 8 ohm total load to the amp head. As far as recommending, what speakers are in the cabinet now? What kind of music are you playing, guitar/bass?

16 ohm speakers, the selection is kind of limited. Eminence makes some good quality speakers that are reasonably priced and work great for bass. Jensen's are great for guitar just not sure what is out there in 16 ohms. Some of the guys on here like Weber but I don't know anything about them. Selenium have a good clean sound as well but not sure about the 16 ohms. Stay clear of the no name brands since most are just junk, and spend as much as you can afford to get the top of the line if possible. JBL's are my favorite but you have to hunt to find the right one's. Like Pleat posted, depends on what kind of music your playing and instrument. We all have different tastes in the sound we are looking for. Check Parts Express......they sell a good selection of speakers and at all price ranges.

I play guitar, no bass. Mostly classic rock and blues. SO looks like I would need to find 16ohm speakers to keep all the electrical in line. I appreciate the recommendations.
