Heres a tip on something I did on Sunday while I had the back off one of my cabinets that will make getting it off again far faster.
I took a old G string from my 6 string, and made a loop that was long enough to hang off the back of the cabinet by about 1 1/2" and also long enough to rap around a wood screw a bunch of times after I put a washer under the screw head, I also put on and heated some clear shrink tubing on to the lenght of string that would hang off the back of the cabinet so as to not cut thru my hand when I pull on it.
I then screwed the whole thing down real tight to the inside back of the cabinet low enough to clear the screw down wood strip that the whole back locates on.
I made one for the top and one for the bottom of the cabinet.
Now I can resist the erge to use a screw driver to get the back of a cabinet popped free.

Just got my hands on a pair of old K100 cabs. I wanted to take a look at that speakers and undid all the screws but the back wouldn't budge. I figured that the back had been on so long that it fused to the frame. So I put a pole in through the front and tried poping it out that way. Still didn't budge. Any suggestions?

Kustom used a very sticky seal around the perimiter of the back to eliminate air movement. The best way to remove the back is with 2 people. One with a screwdriver VERY carefully prying around the edge. You will puncture the Nauga slightly but try to minimize the damage. And the second person does exactly what you did by going in through the ports. Use a blunt end handle like a sledge hammer and drive the back off. Once you break the seal, it will come off. But that seal is very black and dirty. It will get on everything. Clean it off the surfaces you get dirty with mineral spirits or charcoal lighter fluid. I cleaned all of it off of my cabs and replaced it with foam self adhesive weather stripping. Good luck.

WOW!!! That's a lot of work just to get the back off the cab. And that's times two! But I've got to see what's actually in there. Thanks for the advice.
