i get really overwhelmed by working on amps. but i've got a problem with my PA and i need to fix it before tour and i've got very little cash...

so it looks like i need to figure this out.

i've got an early '70s tuck 'n roll. it was working fine then started getting really static for a while. now it won't turn on at all. i'm not sure if the problems are related or not. any suggestions...

thanks, i appreciate it.

If the pilot light does not come on and if you press your ear up to the back of the chassie and you do not hear the power transformer humming, then you either have a bad power cord, or the internal fuse has blown, or the thermal circuit breaker mounted in the center of the output transistors is bad and open. When kustoms blow its mostly from output/driver circuit problem and you get a loud 120 Hz buzz from the speakers, you did not mention that type of noise so I do not think your problem is that bad.
