I've been told that you should use only plain water - that anything else will cause the naugahyde to become cloudy (I'm sure that doesn't apply to Black, though). I think that person was being a bit overcautious, though. I'm pretty sure I used Windex (or maybe it was just a mild soap solution - can't remember) on mine once, with no ill effects.

I've used 409 and 409 orange, spray bottle and mixed in water. Both have worked great. On the “caked on spots”, you can gently use a scrub brush, make sure that the “caked on dirt” you’re scrubbing is NOT a burn, that could make a nasty hole. After a good cleaning you may want to use a little Armor All. This helps restore a nice shine. For the grills the 409 works great with a scrub brush - again very gentle. If the grill is thin or has holes be very, very gentle. Rinse with water from a spray bottle and wipe up the water immediately! If anyone knows how to get color distortions out of the tuck-n-roll, I would like to know.

On all the t&r coverings I use hot water and dish washing soap with a old tooth brush. To reprotect the black t&r I use turtle wax 2000 in the green spray bottle, you can get it at a auto parts store. If you have any of the sparkle cover t&r keep them away from any grow lights, or sun light as the ultravolet will speed up the yellowing that happens as these age.
