I have a K200-A head that I am trying to get the effects to work. We have made a 4 button foot switch for it and it has a 4 prong male connector in the back. We just can't seem to make it work right. Does anyone have a schematic for this amp? I would be most appreciative. Thanks to all, this site rocks. John

As far as I know, there have been no sightings of K200A series schematics out there. I've been looking for a set myself.

As for the foot switch, each of the four pins activate a different effect, e.i. reverb, tremolo/vibrato, etc. Unlike the K200B series, the A series effects are all normally off, and need to be turned on with the foot switch. If you ground the pin to the chassis it will turn on the associated effect. If you have Model 4 head with rev, trem, sel. boost and harmonic clipper, all four pins of the jack will be used.

There has been a question around here regarding which pin turns on and off which effect. Maybe you can settle this issue with your findings. Take a short wire and ground each of the four pins and see which effect turns on when each pin is grounded. The pins are numbered so let us know what you find out.

Hi Bill,

We have grounded the effects but now they only work when the channels are linked together. It is obious that something is not right. This could be a little over my head so I am enlisting the help of the amp guru I know to see if he can straighten this out. I will get back to you on the pins and each effect they function. Thanks a bunch. John

Oh, I guess I forgot to mention that all of the effects only work on the left channel.

There are two channels on the A-series amps Normal and Effects. Even though the controls for the Selective Boost and Harmonic Clipper are located on the right side of the front panel they are connected to the left side inputs.

Sorry for forgetting to mention that.

Yes, we figured that out. It seems that head needs a cap job on the effects channel. The other thing is that the wires coming off the 4 prong male connector were screwed up like somone tried to make the effects work without the switch. I don't think we can tell you the factory color codes for the pins. Sorry about that. John

Hi Bill,

Ok the head is working beautifully now. The effect wires were off the pins and grounded when we got to it. I'm sorry to say that there is no way to report the factory configuration at this point. The amp ended up with a complete 10 (ohm?) cap job. I probably said that wrong but I'll bet you know what I mean. We built our own foot switch and now all the effects work as they should. I particulary like the tremolo/vibrato sound. That's very kool. The amp now sounds like my others if not a little stronger.

I cannot thank you guys enough for being there and helping me through this. You and Steven are great guys who really make this a fun hobby. Hope we can visit again down the road. Best to all, John
