After just having one of the springs give out in the reverb pan of my k100 combo during transportation, I came up with this way to reduce this problem by a large amount.Heres how to go about it. After removing the pan from your amp and making note of which cable went where, notice that each spring is realy two springs connected in their center span. This is the location to make and install a limiter so the springs can all but barely move up and down and side to side.I did this with the use of some singal wall card board, some foam weather strip and tube type contact cement.I idea is to make two seperate boxes, one for each spring that is lined on all four sides with the foam, leaving 1/8 inch of spring clearance on top and sides. This should be located just short of the center of the springs. This took me less than one half hour.
