It is a non effects head making it more of a bass head, but I use them for guitar as they sound a touch better for guitar and are a touch louder. The two twelves will work for bass, but depending on what brand they are will depend on how hard you can push them.

Kustom didn't really make a dedicated bass or guitar amp so to say, you could use any of them for anything. They all had the same guts, some just had effects and some didn't.

The non effects K100-1 head does sound a triffle louder and have more clean head room than the -2.
The -2 models power supply is feeding alot of extra circuitry and as such there is less current to be had for powering the output stage. This holds true for all models of Kustom amps and other brands where the same basic power supply is used as a starting point.

If your speaker cabinet has a jack plate on it that says CTS than its loaded with the drivers to hold up to bass use, they work good for guitar also but lack the shimmer/harmonics above 4 khz that the other drivers would give.

I also have a 2x12 CTS cabinet and it is very nice for bass in small venues. 60 watts is small for a bass amp. Also, remove the rear panel and check to make sure the speakers are still CTS. They will have a very heavy square magnet. The speakers do get replaced over the years.

If you have a small telescoping viewing mirror you can stick it in one port tube while you have a flashlight in the other tube and see the magnet structure without the 1/2 hour long process R&Ring the back panel.

and maybe a 2 x 2 to knock it loose through the port tubes by hitting it....lol! Some of the back panels really get glued on.
