If I had the $ I would snap up the "Cascade color" above mentioned deal on ebay right now. K200A-4 with 2 15's and a police siren! Can't believe nobody bids on it or does "buy it now" It's listed for a starting price of $900 and buy it for $1000. The original price in the literature section of this site had it going for $895. It's pick-up only but still!

The bids will start hitting it in the last hours of the auction. Thats the way ebay things seem to go when their are a lot of seasoned ebayers interested in a item. Nobody wants to start ramping up the price untill the last minutes, when those who know how to win a bid in the last seconds are on their game!

I saw that item also, but this is the 2nd or 3rd time it has been listed. No one is biting at that price. It is a great rig, but the size will frighten most buyers. I have 4 cabs like that and I can tell you, it is a 2 men and a boy haul. You might see that rig go for $600 to 700 but I doubt if it will bring $1000. Otherwise it would have sold already.

I agree with Conrad. The 3x15 cabinets are a special market. But, Roy, JC and I can testify that you CAN get a 3x15 in a 95 Toyota Camry 4 door!BC Cool

I did think the monstrous cab had something to do with it. I know how ebay works but if the buy it now price is close to the start price it throws another dynamic in there. Also, you don't see the "Fogerty Head" (albeit cascade) come up very often. It's fun to get a responce! Thanks PS albeit black heads sound better--a blast from the past but that's another subject.

They play these games on eBay by not setting a reserve but setting the starting price so high no one bids. I guess that's better than setting a reserve of $900 and starting the bidding at a $1.99. Wait until he drops the starting bid. If it weren't for the fact I'm done buying 3x15's and K200's in general, I might consider it. I need to get my latest "family" pictures posted here or somewhere. Cascade was my color for years, now it's every color. The only color I don't have is black.
Conrad Very Happy

The only color I have is black! A K200A-5 AND A K200A-3 (both are early circuit breaker models) Two heads doesn't constitute collecting by this forum's standards.

I'm sooooo glad to see another kustom guy with sense enough to know that the black ones are the best sounding ! (grin) good for you Wise...

the Cascade rig should price is a bit high ...and he should be willing to ship it ...and that's why the rig is still on the bay...

I'm no where near what BC puts on stage..but I do still regularly run a pair of those 3x15 siren cabs and a pair of 2x15 cabs...and ya know..as far as loading...because they can stand up in my trailer..its really less work for me to wheel em out than it is to wrestle with my Mackie rig...you gotta bend over and lift the mackie tops and put em on a hand truck dolly, then put the tri pods up, and lift em up on to their posts..then go get the subs..heavey little powered cubes..put them on the hand truck and wheel them in and bend over and shove em around till you have em in place...its a lot more work than the kustoms..heck , my wife just pushes em into the venue and positions them where we want them and pulls the covers off and plugs in the speaker cable...and instead of some grey little plastic things on spindly poles with legs sticking out all over...we have a beautiful wall of padded glory framing up the stage...now to be honest.. I have a couple color pieces...and some very very nice cascades...but yeah..the black really does sound better ....

Remember, Black is the absence of color. All light is absorbed. I wonder if sound works the same way??? Razz

see...that ya go thinkin again..got it all backwards...ever hear of a white hole?...no....the most powerful entity in the known universe...is black..and I ain't talkin about Mikey Tyson..it captures every single ounce of energy and then shoots an incedible burst of gama straight out like some massive beam...and that burst contains dynamics of energy far beyond your little white or red or blue nova stars....ok..nuff of the astronomy 101...you sparkle amp guys probably prefer to study astrology anyway...Dude...benefit of the doubt..every year at this time.. I find myself playing my guitar and eating christmas cookies..yes, with little sprinkles all over the little santa clause shape cutouts...and inevitably..some of the cookie crumbs and sprinkles wind up falling on top of my amps..and I can tell ya.. I can hear the difference as soon as the kustoms get sparkly...fidelity drops off, the notes get blurry and everything in the room starts to sound fuzzy...or it just might be the eggnog either way...black amps rule !!!

Hey Conrad....the answer to the sunroof question is....no one. I am too short for that to be a problem. The 3x15 did make a great arm rest though. The shifter movement was a wee bit tight. I also had 5 JBLs in the trunk. (and you city boys thought all we ran down south was moonshine!)To complete the story the BLACK 3x15 was loaded with square magnet special design Jensens and it sounds great for guitar. Now I need to see if I can fit a 3x15 in an Accord sedan! Very Happy BC
