At five you are at or close to the maximum clean output of the amp. Generally on the Kustoms, you hit full volume around 4. It is 75 watts RMS which might not be enough for you depending on your speakers. What speakers and what cabinet do you have? What ohms are the speakers?
A lot of cabinets have trouble with bass notes that low. Also try running the bass control at 12 o'clock or lower.
