This may have been asked before but I am new to this site and rather than scroll thru all messages, I will ask. I have a Kustom "200" head with the 3/12 cabinet (have had it since about 1972/3) and there is one RCA jack on the back of the head that I have never known the purpose of. I got the amp used back then and never needed an owner manual and now cannot obtain one. The purpose of this jack has always puzzled me. Can anyone out there fill me in on the purpose of the above mentioned jack? thanks in advance.

I believe it's a preamp-out jack, meant to plug into a secondary power amp. They used to call it a "slave out". I have no idea why it's an RCA and not a 1/4" - maybe they thought people would try to plug it into speakers....or a footswitch!

Its really a tape record out put jack thats why its a RCA.
It can be used to feed a mixer or a power amp but some power amps these days need a input drive voltage of 1.4 volts ( or just about +4 DB) to get the full rated wattage out of them, and that RCA jack will not provide that much volatge.
A simple line output box can be made with two 1/4" jacks, 1 resistor, and one pot. this will go in line with the amps speaker output jack and give you the needed voltage to drive some of these newer power amps. The higher drive voltage needed by these new power amps provides a much improved signal to noise ratio.
