Hey guys, my name is Matthew, I'm from New York. I'm a little familiar with Kustom Bass Cabs in the sense that I've used them for a year or 2 now. But I know little to nothing to figure out when my cab was made. I've been using my friends Kustom 3x15 bass (?) cab for a year and we couldn't even figure out if it was a bass cab. It has 2 15 inch speakers and 1 15 inch siren, not sure if that's enough to classify it as a bass cab. It doesn't have the 2 sound holes like most Kustom Bass cabs have. I have 1 picture of it so if interested I could sent it.

I just recently bought a vintage Kustom Tuck and Roll 3x15 bass cab off FaceBook for $100, has only 1 of the 3 original speakers in it. I'd like to know what it is and what year it was made. I'm picking it up tomorrow Sun Jan. 24th so I will send pictures there. Would also like to know if I got a decent deal.

Also, my preferred rig is an Ampeg Bass head through a Kustom Cab, wonder if you guys think that's sacrilegious or not haha.

Anyways, glad to be a part of the forum. Any questions about the cab let me know! As mentioned before I will be sending pictures tomorrow when I get the Cab!

- Matthew

Matthew, First off, Welcome to the site. From your description of the 3x15 cab with the siren horn. That cabinet was available with either Jensen P15L speakers, JBL D130 speakers or the Altec 418 speakers. Even though the JBL or Altec can handle bass with moderate volumes, the siren horn can be blown with high volumes of Bass. The horn use's a simple crossover cap to keep low frequencies out, but I wouldn't trust it after 50 years.
You can't post photos to this site, or at least I've never figured it out. You can email some photos of your cabinet to djt@chartermi.net and I can tell you what speaker might be in the cab. No telling after this much time if the speakers are original to the cabinet.

Kustom used 16 ohm speakers in 3x15 bass cabinets wired in parallel for a total of 5.6 ohm load to the K200 amp head.

Hope this helps,

Don
