Hi, most hiss issuse with these amps are due to the small to92 type black case transistors going.
Since both channels are noisy, it must be in a transistor in the pre- driver section of the board, or at least that would be my first guess.
These transistors are so darn cheep these days that you can but 10 of them for under 50 cents each or less, so it would pay to change them.
Also replacing the first three in each channel will make for less hiss.

Hi,

Can you tell where I can get transistors for under 50 cents each? I have a K100-2 and a K200B-5 that needs similar work.

Thanks!

If you have transistors marked pet8004, or se4002, these are npn type 2n3904, or NTE brand 123ap.
A 2n3638, which is the second transistor in the preamp section crosses to a NTE 129 which is A PNP type.
If you go to the NTE web site, they have a cross over you can use to get current numbers.
