Hi all! I have a line on a Black tuck and roll K150 in pretty good condition from the mid '60s. I haven't been able to play it yet, but the owner claims that it's in reasonably good condition, though he says it needs a going through and some cleaning - dirty pots, etc. Before I drive 45 miles out to see this amp, what would you think would be a decent price for it?

Is it near Atlanta, GA? I saw a black K150 on Atlanta Craigslist a few weeks ago, and the seller was asking $225, which I thought was pretty reasonable. If it checks out with no major problems, you might offer $200-ish and work up from there.

I agree, But now knowing it is a combo and not just a head that makes a difference. If it has the 2 x 12" like you think, You need to go look at condition and take a 9V battery with you and touch the speakers with it and make sure they move and make noise, if not that may be the big problem. I bought mine and the only thing wrong is the speakers were blown.
The Defender it is hard to say on that. if you can get a good deal on them and they are in decent shape, I wouldn't be afraid to pick them up and get them repaired. The K150 is 10 times the amp of anything that you can buy today. You need to go look at them for sure.

Yeah, I've been arguing with myself whether I need it. I don't really want to take my current amp to gigs around town, but it's no more expensive - and certainly
no more rare - than the K150. I'll try to make some time to drive up and see/ hear it soon, and I'll let you know what I find, thanks again for all the input!
