Today I was playing and my 1968 Tuck and Roll speakers blew out. I'm not sure what to replace them with or even how to get all of the stuff. This is my first cab that I bought second hand, so if anyone knows what I'm talking about, please help me. I'll try to get all my facts down if someone really needs to.

What is the cabinet, 2-15"ers, 2-12s, 3-15", 3-12s. Kustom had a large aray of models, and do you play keyboards, guitar, bass or both thru it?

2X15 and I play bass through it. The head that came with is 200 watts, and it says I should play through 4ohms, but I have no idea what else to do about it.

Well let take things step by step here.1ST) Have you tryed the cabinet with a different amp and a different speaker cord, you can use a known good guitar cable just for testing. 2nd) the only time I have ever seen both speakers fail at the same time in a amp was when the amp developed a problem first in the output stage, and the full 40 volts DC from the powersupply hit the speakers and inturn took them out( speakers die very fast from DC voltage)I am not saying its impossible to blow both speakers at the same time when playing, but man NASA would love to have those odds on their side for not having any mission problems! If you have or can borrow a volt meter, set it for a range setting of more than 40 volts DC(may be 100 volts) hook it across the male end of a cord hooked up to the amp and have someone trun the amp on for you and look for a DC voltage, anything more than 1.5 volts showing up for more than 2 seconds and the amp has a problem. If it turns out to be truly just blown speakers you can have them reconed for about 65 bucks each if they are the base line CTS OR JENSEN models, it will say what speakers the cab original came with on the original speaker jack plate on the cabinet. New replacements for these two models are around 70 to 85 dollars. If you are lucky and the cab has JBLs or ALTECs in it I would get them reconed, although these brands can run close to 180 dollars to get repaired. In whatever you chose to do with whatever speakers you have that may be dead, DO NOT THROW THEM AWAY! Let us know how it goes.
