Excellent timing, JC! I got some sample knobs and sent them to Kustom Dan a little while ago, and we have been corresponding about them. What I noticed, and Dan agreed with, is that these are very, very close, but not an exact match if you hold it side-by side with an original knob. Dan's mention of the Kurz-Kasch company as the supplier that Bud had mentioned got me digging around again, and what I found out is Kurz-Kasch sold their interest in producing these knobs to the Cosmo Corp sometime in the 70's. Talking with one of the old timers there, I found out that when Cosmo got the molds, they were in such bad shape that they had to be re-engineered for production, resulting in the model that is offered today. I'm guessing that these are the same knobs being offered as Rickenbacker replacements by Allparts. I have a few more samples that they sent me, and what I'd like to do is send them out to you JC, and maybe one to Deb, to compare with the Allparts knobs.
