Hi Folks: I am new around here and need some help. Just picked up a cool Frankenstein head from the late sixties (I think). I do not have a matching cabinet yet, but would like to play the amp before I find one. The problem is I don't know what speaker load to use. There is only one speaker jack in the back, but it's not labeled. Seems to me there was a placard on the back panel at one time but now it's gone. So before I do something stupid and use the wrong speaker load, could you folks tell me what the OT impedance is? Much obliged. Ed

Hi Ed, the amp you have is around the mid 60's and the impedance is 4 ohm total load but will work fine with a 8 ohm cab. What color is your amp? The wide panels were 11 rolls of tuck and roll and the later amps and cabinets were 12. Don

Well hey Ed...this is Ed...Ed Taylor...aka ET!... welcome to the gang...you've got one of the older amps...and without a doubt the better sounding models...try the head on both 12s and 15s...you'll be really impressed with your amp through the original 2x15 cab it was designed for...I love mine as a guitar rig...watch out for all these guys..they'll get you so involved with this kraziness.... pay up on all your bills now and start diggin in the sofa for loose change...cause the kustom fever is about to hit!
Thanks guys! [message #450 is a reply to message #449] Tue, 27 March 2001 01:31 Go to previous message

Really appreciate the fast response. My amp is dark gray sparkle (or is it called charcoal?) Anyway. ET is quite right. This stuff is very contagious. Maybe if I skip lunch for the next few months, I'll be able to get that red head, hehehe. Ed
