Hi, first post. So I took possession of a Kasino Snake Eyes 250Bass head and cab over the weekend. It is pristine original condition, even still has the original two prong power cord and amp/cab covers.

I have a few questions:

Head s/n 12354, cab s/n 14729- what year were the made?

EQ controls are: Bass1, Bass2, Bass3 what the heck, why would Kustom do this LOL?. I think Bass3 is treble because of the pull for bright

What to do with the 2-prong power cord. I know it is dangerous, but this is such a pristine head/cab, I just don't want to ruin it. Will it devalue it at all if I change it?

Thanks for your time

Pete

Hello and welcome!

Yes that model had 3 bass controls each covering a certain frequency range.
Think of it like a graphic EQ, but with pots instead of sliders.
I am to this day surprised that more of these amps where not bought by bass players back then just due to that great EQ section this model Kustom had!

If it where not for the fact that I already had my K250 I would have bought one for sure even thought it would not match my 3-15 T & R cab.

You can change out the power cable and it will not devalue the amp.

I would date the amps birth to late 74 or early 75, but the best way to pin it down would be by the date code on the speakers.

That serial number tells you that the speaker was made in the 50th week of 1974.
