Greetings,
I just purchased a wonderful PA system model 600-5 which has set for twenty years. I would like any advise on startup. Also, I only have one original speaker cord. This is a large system with four super cabinets. They say JBL on the back. I think they are top of the line, right? Matching covers plus one for the amp with chrome stand. Can anyone describe the best way to get this system going without blowing something up. The speaker output says one four ohm or two eight ohm inputs. There are two of these sections. So four speaker cabinets going directly into each 1/4 input. Also, is there a way of getting a book on this system. It is blue sparkle and we are loving the size of the cabinets. Any help would be great. Thanks, Doc kriss

I agree with JC, photo's of your find would be great to see.
I think what JC was refering to is the replacement of the original power cord. We all change them out to a newer 3 Pin grounded power cord. You can get a 12 to 18 ft. applaince cord for under 10.00. Wire the new cable just as the original, white the where the original white is connected and the same for the black wire. The green wire connects to any chassis ground. Makes the amplifier much safer and the shock hazard won't be an issue.
