So recently I got a p-310 speaker tower/cab for my line 6 150 watt head, I was wondering if anyone could tell me if it was safe to use those together, as I do not know what the ohms on the cab/tower are , the amps outputs are 8 ohms. the speakers are the same as the ones shown here http://www.vintagekustom.com/FUDforum2/index.php?t=rview& ;goto=16358&th=2893

Check your ohms by plugging a speaker cable into the cabinet and taking a multimeter and setting it on the ohm setting and it will give you a reading like 5.6-6.8 or so for example and that would make it a 8 ohm cab. if it reads 2.4-3.4 then it is a 4 ohm cab.

I would say it is more of a vocal cab than anything, but do not know what it has in it for speakers. I know the older Kustom Tuck and roll columns were mainly meant to be vocal cabs. I know that we used a set with 10's in them and ran them full range with music through them and for our band and mic;d guitar amps and for vocals and eventually the speakers went to crap in them. Better off you are using them for guitar than a bass though.

The ohm load is most important, check that first and make sure it is good and them plug it in to see how it sounds and keep an eye on it.

Is the Line 6 PA head a mono or stereo power amp output? The cabs are about a 5.6 ohm load each column. It might be hard to measure the cabs since it has two piezo tweeters and 50 ohm 5 watt resistors in series.

this is the head http://line6.com/legacy/spideriiihd150 and so far even if it is made for vocals they seem to go together pretty well and work fine but im just worried if its ohms are wrong if it will go out on me eventually or something like that

It appears that you amp is a guitar head. 150 watt Stereo so you have a left and a right output jack at 8 ohms each. I'm guessing that each amp is really 75 watts. Your kustom cabinet is 5.6 ohms it's really close to the 8 ohms. You have the other internal amp not driving a cabinet. I don't know much about Line 6 amps, and the manuals are not very detailed as to speaker hookup. Kustom amps can run without a load with no damage, but I can't say with your amp if it's safe to run only one cabinet. One way to run the amp and use both outputs would be to re wire the cabinet so you are only using two of the three speakers and each speaker is connected to each amp outputs. I'd be careful not to drive the amp too loud, but at least you'd have both amps connected to a speaker.

hmm i'll have to research more whether or not its safe to only use one side, and you are correct in assuming that its 2 75 watt outputs
