Just got a K50-2
I notice that the volume coming from the "low" input is actually louder than the "high" input
Is this normal? Seems like this amp should be louder

Hello. Yes, that is normal. The low and high inputs on Kustoms are meant for low output pickups and high output pickups. In other words, the low input is a straight input while the high input has a -10 dB (or so) resistor. Opposite of what you may think, but that's how it works. I almost always use the low input because the bass response is so much better, but the high input adds a biting edge, and you can drive it harder with less distortion (when used clean, though it cuts gain overall, even with pedals). If you are a bass player and ever get a K200 or K100 head, i've found that the high inputs handle active basses nicely, as I found one time when my friend came over with an active Ibanez. The nice thing about the low inputs is that you get a very nice natural break-up, much like a tube amp, when the amp is cranked up to half or so (and I'd imagine with a little combo that's about where you'd have the volume normally set). So have some fun with it, and if you like the tone and want more volume, try a K200. Good luck!

Actually, it's not a resistor, but a capacitor, which functions as a high-pass filter. So in terms of frequency response, the labels are correct - sort of. "High" filters out a lot of the lows, giving you a sound more full of highs. "Low" is the full, unfiltered signal - which, by comparison, has a lot more Low's than the "High" input. Make sense?
