I have seen several K100 PA heads for sale lately and some on ebay as well. I would like to say that these are great deals in amps. One of these heads on a 2x15 cabinet makes a nice bass rig....more power than you think! Foxy is using one for a keyboard amp because of the 4 channels....another good idea. But try one on top of twin 2x12 cabinets for a guitar amp. I am not a guitar player.....but I like the sound I can get with this configuration! Works nice for bass as well with the appropriate speakers. Has anyone else tried this? It is another case of getting the load down to 4 ohms and getting the tone......plus they already have two output jacks unlike the 100 guitar and bass heads. What are your thoughts????? BC!

I will reply to myself! Pleat sent me a pic of a 100 PA head that is labeled for two 16 ohm loads or one 8 ohm load.....so be aware of this before you fry something! My heads are older and are not labeled at the jacks and I still like the way they sound at 4 ohms. However, based on the latest info from Pleat......do it at your own risk! Thanks Don! BC!

Hi guys.. I have an old k100PA that i use as my " throttel jocky " rig. I run my Epiphone Les Paul with a Seymour Duncan "Invader" bridge pickup and a Duncan JB in the neck position ( 2 extremely hot pickups !!!) thru my old Dearmond model 602 volume control pedal to the amp. I turn off the reverb with the footswitch, turn everything on the guitar to 10. turn everything on the amp channel to 10 and let it rip!!! Back the vol. pedal all the way back for your rhythm sound and throttle it up for your leads. Great tone, great controlled feedback, nasty as you want it to be!!! turn reverb on and off with swith as necessary!! Thats my favourite use for them!!! I have found them to work good for long periods of time at 8 ohm or 4 ohm loads . I prefer 4 ohms myself. I run it thru a 2-12 cab with jbls and it screams!!! they sound great for bass, keyboards , anything!!! if you need to be louder, get a 200PA and stand back!!!! thats a nother story for another time!!! It would be nice if they all had the ohm nos. on the back , like Pleats, but sadly mine and many I have seen has none!! '
