On the K250 preamp circuit board PC5066, what are transistors Q1 (Kustom part #007-0007-00) and Q2 (Kustom #007-0009-00)???
I see from earlier posts that the IC (Kustom #007-7015-00) is an NTE725. Thanks for posting that info!! And the 40841 seems to cross reference to an NTE221.
Oh, and I intend to replace the 4500 mfd electrolytics with 10,000 mfds, anybody see any problem with that??

In reference to upping the size of the electrolytics, I do it all the time. I usually keep them under 4 times the original size. The amp won't compress as much, that is, the voltage on the output transistors sags with the high current during loud passages. When the sound decays, the voltage returns to the original voltage and the power output rises along with it, keeping the power somewhat constant. The result is a compressed sound that takes longer to decay. Old Fenders from the 60's had tube rectifiers and they would compress alot. When you replace the caps with larger ones, you reduce the compression factor. But you do get a little more output power from your amp. I think it is a good tradeoff. The only drawback that I could see, is if the higher inrush current needed to initially charge the capacitors is too high, it could blow the power fuse. A slow blow or slightly larger fuse might be needed.
