Hi guys. I just bought a Kustom Studio 6-valve from eBay. The description said that channel switching was "sketchy" which I took to mean was intermittent. Not so, switching doesn't work at all. Boost works, reverb works, flanger works, but channel switching does not. I was hoping that the problem was in the footswitch itself, but I have another to test with, and neither work. Any ideas on a fix?

I have an amp tech at the local music store who is very good with vintage amps, unless it is an easy fix, I'll probably end up taking it to him, but any info would be appreciated.

Thanks!

p.s. other than that I'm very happy with the purchase, the amp sounds great! Loud as heck too!

There are three different way that a amp can be built to preform its channel switching functions, all of which will have to be checked out for you by a tech.

I have no experience with that amp, but in general the problem may be mechanical (broken switch, loose connection, etc.) or electronic (bad transistor or IC, etc.).

Is there a front panel switch to change channels?

If you pull out the head from the case, check to see if the wiring to the foot switch jack is secure. Also check to see if there are any loose connectors, etc.
