I'd like to take the time to thank you for all the work that you have done regarding these serial number lists. It's an amazing list of dates, numbers and physical features. And even more amazing is the fact that you freely share this information with all of us.

I second that - good work, Les!
I collect information on the organs, but I only have details from four specimens. If anyone has a Kustom Kombo organ, lift up the top (it's hinged, just lifts right up) and write down any numbers on the metal ID plate and/or the paper tag stapled nearby on the back side. One of the numbers on the paper tag is, I believe, a date.
I don't know where the serial/date info is on the Kombo II, but if anyone has those, I'll take them as well. If I ever gather enough to warrant it, I'll post them here, too.

I have a Kustom Commander Model 28-L, S/N 97286 which I purchased from Music Mart, North Palm Beach FL. Trying to rely on my memory, I thought I had purchased it in the late 60s, but according to the Serial Number Chart it would have been in early 1973..... which didn't seem correct at first, but I assume the chart is correct and my recollection is incorrect. Anyway, I still have it ( planning on handing it off to a grandson ) and it still looks great and sounds great after many gigs up until the early 90s. Actually, at the time I was using it with a Fender Rhodes piano..... best I remember, it also made a decent piano bench.

Hi Pete,
The serial number chart is an estimate assuming serial numbers were used in exact order.
For most Kustoms it will be close, maybe plus or minus 3 weeks.
For example, a Kustom I just bought was produced 4/28/70 according to the chart, and the actual production date was 5/20/70 (it was a K100C-6 – maybe the 50’s section of the chart is more accurate for K100C-8’s).
Yours was made probably in late January 1973, so you probably bought it at some point after about March or April 1973. Send me the numbers hand written on the top front frame of your amp and I will try to figure out the exact production date.
I used to live in Florida; in 1975 I bought some Kustom gear from that same store - Music Mart in North Palm Beach FL.

The estimate date is close enough...... Thanks for the offer. If I pull the amp out of the case again soon, I'll look for the hand written numbers. Would you or anyone else happen to know which if any of the accessory foot switches currently sold by Kustom would work with this amp? I can't seem to find my original one.... must have lost it somewhere along the way.

The speakers in my Commander are labeled: KEI, Kustom Electronics, P/N 038 5008 00 G During the 80s when I often used the Commander with a Fender Rhodes piano, I worried that the heavy bass would turn em wrong side out..... but they seem to have hung in there AOK. I finally retired the Commander from piano duty when I got a Peavy keyboard amp.

You know Pete, I am in the same boat...need a footswitch to control the reverb and vib/trem.....maybe any generic 1/4" jack two button switch will do......

OK,
I've been looking at this chart and the serial number on my Frankie is 2193. Does this mean that I have on of the first of the first?
It's a J495RV which isn't listed under the model numbers. I bought it new in 65.
