I would like to know if anybody has tried different value treble pots in a Frank head to lessen the hiss that starts about 1/2 turn and gets more intense as you go up from there?
I think the high treble setting is to bright and hissy to be of any use anyway. You can actually change or replace the same pot on the franks as they are not attached to a curcuit board. I tried a 100k in place of one of the originals, but there's too much bass in the sweep. The good thing is the hiss does'nt appear until it's almost dimed. I guess a 50k or 25k would do the trick. I don't know too much about ohms and resistance so is there something ele to consider? Let me know guys and Deb cause I won't miss the hiss even though I know alot of you feel it's part of Kustomdom. Thanks, Teleman

Hi! One tip I can give you is that the hiss you are hearing is Kustom old age showing up. Smile The best things to do include: changing all the resistors to metal film ones, replacing all the caps cuz they dry out after 20 years or more. There are other things but they get more involved.
