No volume with bass down [message #1409] Sat, 06 April 2002 22:22 Go to next message

This is really weird. On my K250, on Channel 2, if I turn the Bass control down, the volume drops all the way off. If I turn the Bass pot all the way to the left, there is no volume whatsoever. This is R20 on the schematic for PC5066. I suspect either C9 or C10 (or C11)... Any thoughts other than just change them?

Unfortunately you didn't mention the position of the other controls while you were playing around with the bass control. On this type of tone stack, with all controls at zero, there will be no volume. But if the signal totally dies assuming treble and mid at max with the bass control at zero, then I would suspect a short across C12 first. For this to happen with treble and mid at max, R18, c10 and R21 would all have to be dead shorts, which would be unlikely.
