Greetings people, I’ve collaborated in the past on another amplifier web-board regarding a hard-to-find footswitch for their amplifier. My suggestion was for one of the other web-board members to send me a picture of the insides of their existing pedal for a specific amp as to where I created an easy-to-read diagram for all in need can use as a wiring diagram so they can create their very own custom amp footswitch.
In our case here, it seems as if there is a need for several footswitches. Now, since I’m not in it to make money, I’m always suggesting that we help each other out. Since I’m a proud new owner of a Kustom K250-2 which sounds excellent as an addition to my existing rig, I’m in desperate need of a footswitch for this model amp.
After scouring this webpage for this specific topic and coming up empty, allow me to propose that we get together and help each other out!!!
If anyone within this web-board is willing to contribute to my idea, I’m sure it would be incredibly appreciated by not only me, but to all users/owners with the same dilemma.
If you have a footswitch for any of the Kustom amplifiers and would like to contribute, I suggest we share digital pictures of the footswitch’s internal design so I can create a wiring diagram such as the example I’ve provided below.
I’m honored to be a part of a small army of Kustom amp owners and I would love to see this topic (as well as other ‘Do-It-Yourself’ topics) grow strong legs in order to preserve the appreciation for our amps.
Cheers guys!
~Phil

Phil:
Welcome!
I just wanted to chime in here and tell you that this is a great idea. I love the idea of sharing info on all things.
Very nice looking diagram too. But if you are using conventional switch shapes, it will not work as drawn. I don't know if this is a real sample illustration or just something to show style, but it has a few errors.

Hey Bill/SteveM, thanks for the welcome!
This diagram is only an example.
It's from a different amplifier altogether using XLR/DPDT switches and 3 LEDs! However, if I had pictures of the actual (Kustom) pedal(s) itself, it would be similar to this example, however it would reflect the Kustom footswitches in question!
In fact, I've always (in other web-boards) encouraged teamwork when it comes to... well... being on the same team! So, I'm all for putting up the time to drawing out the diagrams of any footswitch to benefit anyone willing to take the time and build a custom pedal themselves.
If it’s something I’m passionate about, I want everyone willing to benefit as well!
Cheers guys! Thanks for the welcome!
~Phil

Phil:
I'm not confusing what you drew as an example of a Kustom footswitch, my point is that as it is shown, the circuit that you have illustrated will not work as intended.
I read the description and understand that this is for a (Carvin?) X-100-B amp, but there are technical errors in the drawing.
Just pointing out that sometimes wrong information is worse than no information at all.
