Hi everyone
Yesterday i picked up a "non-working" frankie head in trade for a snare drum. I was told it hadn't worked in years, but as soon as i got home with it, i plugged it in, hooked it up and it just buzzed and crackled for 10 minutes. Then, all of the sudden it stopped, and started working! so today i cleaned it all up and sprayed out the guts because it had been in a barn for years. It is older than i thought, based on the serial # dating chart on this site and i read the pot dates. 1965! says ross mfg. instead of ross inc. ANyways, sorry for rambling, but im not to familiar with these and it seems that the guitar side is alot quieter than the bass side. The guitar side is loud, but the bass side is rediculous. is this how its supposed to be or do i got a small problem here?
THanks

Welcome to the place!
I love Frank heads and I'm glad to hear that yours is working, sorta. Which model do you have?
The basic version has two identical channels and can be used for guitar or bass. The RV model that has reverb and vibrato on the left channel only. And the third PA model has reverb on the left channel only and both channels have normal inputs instead of the high/low inputs that are found on the instrument amps.
In any case, both channels are usually equally loud, so there may be a slight problem with your amp.
I don't know how you cleaned out the amp, but you should probably get a can of Caig DeOxit and spray a little into all of the pots and on the input jacks as well.

Thanks for the response, mine has reverb, speed, intensity, volume, bass, and treble on the guitar side(left Side), and volume bass and treble on the bass side(right side). the guitar side is way weaker than the bass side. the bass side is overdriven, dont know why, but it sounds great.Probably shouldn't be. The guitar side is pretty thin sounding and once you get to about 11 o clock on the knob it doesnt go any louder. It moves but no increase in volume. I just sprayed it out with contact clear, im out of deoxit.

So you have an RV model.
There is a slight difference in the two channels, but the left side FX channel should be as loud as the right side. Maybe it's time to check the signal path caps.
If you need the schematic for your amp PM your email address to me and I'll send it to you.
