I just recently recived a 'frankenstein' early head. I was told that everything worked great before it was shipped, but apon getting it the reverb and tremolo do not work. When turning up the reverb, the guiat signal is progressively cut out, - if the reverb is all the way up, there is no guitar. The 'intensity' and 'speed' knobs don't do anything. I haven't opened it up yet, but plan to tomorrow, any suggestions?

You're going to need an oscilloscope to fix this, especially without a schematic. You can do a basic check on the tremelo with a voltage/ohmmeter. If the lightbulb in the heatshrink is burnt out, the tremelo will not function. The bulb should be almost a short circuit (around 4 ohms), if it is an open circuit, it needs to be replaced (you can use a CM49 lamp from Mouser Electronics). You can use the voltmeter to check and see if the oscillator is working by probing the intensity and speed pots. You should see a rising and falling dc voltage there.
