Hey guys.
I found a 15" Kustom speaker(I think its a PA speaker) and a Fi-Sonic Head at my local music shop, and when I play them together the speaker rattles. I've tested both the Head and the Speaker on other equipment, and they sound ok, but together it makes a crackling noise.
I am pretty new to sound equiptment, so would anyone know what the problem would be?
Any advice would be very appreciated! Thankyou.

Hi, if the bad speaker came out of a tuck n roll type kustom cabinet then its worth holding on to the vintage speaker that came out of it and get it re-coned.If its the original driver from the tuck n roll cab, and the original jack plate is still on the back of the cab, that will say on it who the original driver manufacturer was. Their was 5 different make 15 inch speakers that kustom used. 3 where standard drivers and 2 where optional top of the line speakers. The standard bass driver was a CTS brand, and can be IDed by the number 137 stamped on the magnet. one upscale brand could be altec, a model 421 with a ID number of 391 on the mounting lip. The other brand would be JBL, their model D140 driver, JBL uses no ID number. The standard guitar driver would be jensen. with a ID number of 220 then 3 other digets, and model C15L.Top of the line drivers would be the altec model 418b or the JBL D130. Some of the last of the 70s tuck n roll cabs may come with eminence made drivers with 038 number on the magnet. Any of these drivers are worth holding onto, even more so if its one of the top of the line drivers.
