Ok I am new here but I visit some of the other forums.
I am a bass player and just inherited a mint kustom 150-8
It was my grandfathers and was not used much. It never left the living room and spent most of its life with the original cover on.
My family tells me he got it in the early 70's but they don't know much more about it.
I am considering selling it but I don't know what it is really worth.
I plugged my bass into it and it sounds great. I just don't have a need for a guitar amp.
If I keep it I would like to know more about it so point me in the right direction.
Thanks,
Carl

Hi, the metal face k150 and 250s use the same two basic preamp channels as the non-effect head, or bass model as some people call it.So playing bass thru it is not a problem.
The amp puts out about 70 watts RMS into a 8 ohm load, and you can run it at a 4 ohm load but I would try to not run it that way at more than 1/2 volume as it will put out twice the output stage heat at 4 ohms than it did at 8.The 150s and 250s are great heads, they finaly put a tone control on the reverb and added a reverb lock to the rear panel so you do not break the pan springs in travel. The plexi face and metal face k150s also had a transformer choke added to the power supply so when you play the amp cranked up loud it stays alot cleaner than the k100s and k200s. I do not know why they did not add the power supply choke to the 250 serise, I guess thats a question for Bud Ross maybe someone could pass along.
