Hello. Well, this story may shock and appaul some, but here it goes. Today I was playing at a charity concert at school with my K200-B6 and blue Jensen 2x15 cab. The stage was comprosed of 18" tall risers, so it wasn't that deep or wide, but sturdy. A local punk band was on stage and the guitarist was getting a little over zealous and tripped on a cable, falling on his Fender half stack and my Kustom, knocking both off of the stage while falling on his back. Fortunately, my amp landed on dry grass, so the amp was perfectly fine, but it completely destroyed my speaker cable; the conenctors on the cable sheared off. Oddly enough there was absolutely no harm to the amp or cab except for a very slightly bent jack plate on the cab, I just grabbed a new speaker cable and played on it. If that doesn't go to show how tough these things are, I don't know what will. It also goes to show that perhaps I shouldn't set set up so early....

Many Kustom war stories out there. There was a local band in my area that used all cascade Kustom 3x15s and matching PA. A couple of years ago one of the guys told me they were on the way to a gig when a passing car rolled down the window and told them something had fallen out of their trailer. They went back to find the bass player's K200 head in the ditch beside the road. Most of the tuck and roll was torn and ragged so it was torn off. They had no hopes for the head.....but it was plug and play with no problems. The wood case was painted black and the amp was used several more years. As another testament to the Kustoms...this band played 3-6 nights a week for several years....mostly one nighters and I know the Kustoms were in use for at least five years.

A friend in Nashville told me he once saw his K100 head slip from his hands and bounce down a flight of stairs. He was certain it was toast....but no damage other than a little scuffing to the tuck and roll.

My personal experience has so far been tame. My worst crash has been to find a head had fallen from the cabinet to the floor of the band trailer.....no problems so far! Take that, you sissy tube boys! BC

my Dad was loading my 200B head for me one evening...fell down the front steps ( of em..landed on the concrete below..broke his leg..Dad went to the hospital and a cast....the kustom went to work that night...I've currently got a Dave Eden WT800 that's been working for a year on pro stages...probably only 20 total gigs...its in the shop...dead..... I've got a GK1000 bass amp...less than 2 years old....about 40 jobs on it...in the shop dead...the new Fender amps..don't even get me started...they last maybe 3 rides out before the wave solder starts to break up..tube sockets etc...now whenever I buy a new fender..it goes sraight to the bench first for a complete hand solder and replacement of cheap parts before it goes to work...my kustoms....God I wish I could rent those out...my 200B has never...ever been in the shop...is ut due for some fresh filter caps...etc...yeah, probably a bit leaky 30 years on...but I could go play that rig tonight without a worry.
