As I understand it all the guitars and basses were made during the late "Kustom by Ross" era that ended in mid 1968. They were only made for about one year. I do not know if anyone has s/n records to get them closer. There were roughly 3000-3500 made with about ten percent being bass models. Hope this helps and congrats on owning a rare guitar! BC Cool

Maybe someone here (Les) should start a list with serial numbers colors and models.

I've owned two in my lifetime, still have one. I'd be glad to contribute any info I can.

And maybe those of you in contact with Bud Ross can garner more info from him!

Thank you for the response. I also own a K200 Zebra s/n 1997. I have two amplifiers, K100 and K150. Is there any way to tell the manufacture date of the amplifiers, and what speakers should be in them?

You can date them if they still have there serial number tag on the back by doing a search for posting by our great board member Less. He has done tons of research on this subject.
If the serial numbers are gone you can date them by three othe means.
1) the control pots have dates stamped in them.
2) the two large power supply filters have date on their plastic cases.
3) the power transformers have dates stamped on their cover that faces the inside front of the amp.
The k150 could be no younger than 1971 when the first production started up, and production ended sometime in 74.
