Hi My 150-amp gets too hot, and stops to function after approx. 30 minutes of playing. It works fine for hours when I take off the "Tuck and roll"-cover and the metal top-cover, but I can't have it like this for obvious reasons... I guess it gets enough ventilation when I do this, and I'm thinking of trying to install a fan into it. The problem is there seems to be almost no space in there to install an extra fan... Will an extra fan help? Do you have any install-tips? which fan to buy etc.? Won't it get too hot anyway when I put it inside the Tuck-and-roll-cover?? PS: I play bass through this amp, but that shouldn't affect its performance should it? All tips are greatly appreciated! greetings from Magnus

HI, the amp should not get that hot that the only way it can remove enough heat from itself is to be out of the cab and have the lid off.Two easy things to check would be the thermal circuit breaker that is mounted on the bracket that has the 2 output transistors on it. It looks like a short tubular piece of black plastic with to spade wire connections on it. The other thing that is mounted in a clip on that same bracket is the bias diode. These sometimes come out of the clip, and than the circuit can not monitor itself. The amp when in the case should not feel uncomfortable to touch with your hand at the back of the amp when hot.If you have a way to measure, I would say that if the lower back of the amp when in the cab with the lid on sould not exceed 120 degrees. If it is under that you may only have a bad thermal circuit breaker. The clip that holds that bias diode should grip it tight and have a dab of transistor heat compond in it.If the amp is truly starting to run to hot you should notice it starting to distort at a lower volume than what you started at.

Thanks for the tips! If none of this works I'll post a new message here later. Magnus
