...to match the one I have so that I have the option of running both on my K200-A1. Would even be interested in it empty.

Most but not all 2-15 cabinets I have seen are 4 ohm load so check your speakers if your thinking of using two cabinets with that 200 head. Both my cabinets are 4 ohm loads and I have to use two amps not one to power them. You get a load lower than 4 ohms on that head and you'll fry it. Your wanting 16 ohm speakers in both cabinets to make it work.

Actually, the early cabs were 8 ohms, using two 16 ohm speakers, a ploy used to get the customer to buy 2 cabs to realize full potential of the 4 ohm head, thus making more money. I think that the cab ohms change came when the 250 series head and comparable cab were introduced in the early to mid 70's. Memory could be off a little, plus or minus, on the change time.

Yeah, I've checked into this extensively both by my own research and by the tech I go to who is a Kustom fan as well. The 2x15 cab I have, which has always lived with this head, is 8 ohm. The head (K200-A1, ca. 1967) has two speaker outs and are meant to be able to handle either one or two cabinets as you like, though you don't often see people running two these days. It can take a 4 ohm load which is what two 8 ohm cabs works out to (product over sum = 64/16 = 4). The tough part of this is finding one in Charcoal Very Happy I'm willing to take an empty one and spring for a couple Jensens if need be (which are what I have in my current one, I still have one of the original CTS from it)

Back in the early 70's I ran the 200 head with two 2x15 cabs. Even with the stock CTS speakers, sounded great. I now have JBL D140F's and Altec 421A's in those two cabs. Even better. Good luck on the charcoal.

It was not so much a ploy to sell two 2x15 cabs as it was stability of solid state amp at that time. Early and through mid 60's, solid state was new and most companies that manufactured SS amps failed for reliability. Kustom was the first to perfect SS so to speak. The other reason Kustom only used 16 ohm speakers were to simplify inventory. The K200 series amp produced 100 watts RMS into a 4 ohm load. Each 2x15 cab being 8 ohms, a K200 amps with just one 8 ohm 2x15 speaker cabinet didn't produce the full 100 watt output but did give the owner a reliable amp.

Not many in the mid 60's thought much about RMS vs. Peak power or ohms. If an amp was labeled 100 watts or 200 watts, musicians took that at face value and never gave any thought to the impedance of the cabinet.
