I picked up a new one today. A 250-1 with a 250 series (straight not slanted) 3x15 cabinet. Color is "Cool Black". Correct 250 grill cloth and badge. Anyone else have one of these? I have not seen another in many years. BC

I've got a non-slant 3-15 cabinet, but I believe we traced it to be a 67 model.
I also have a matched set of slant cabinet 3-15 with the round 15" horn in them. I've had those two for a few months now. I've hooked each cabinet to a K200B-5 head on numerous occasions, but day before yesterday, for the first time, I hooked both cabinets to that head. I had no idea how much power that setup had. Man, that thing is frighteningly loud!!! Jumping from a single cabinet putting an 8 ohm load on the amp to the two cabinets combined providing a 4 ohm load makes a huge difference in perceived power. Plus you have 6 speakers instead of 3 moving air, so it's loud. Extremely loud.
I'm going to jam tonight with some folks at one of the local pizza establishments. It's tempting to bring the whole rig, but there's no way I need that kind of power for this get together. I'll take one of the cabs with the horn in it and the K200B-5 head with me. What I refer to as "my little practice amp".
For the record, I love the tone I get off of that unit. Those horns really open up the upper end. The two 15's in each cabinet handle the bottom end beautifully and that horn just lets the highs ring.
I know this is somewhat off topic, since neither of these are 250 series cabinets, but the sheer volume of air being moved by 3 15" speakers sure projects your sound well. Those tall cabinets just look intimidating. And deliver the sound to back it up. Having to lift those things is not fun, but when you're playing with new guys and they see your rig for the first time and you hear "Oh WOW!!!", It's worth it.
I have tried to figure out how I can get away from here for the weekend to come up to Chanute, but I just can't make it happen. Maybe I can make it to the next get together. I'm convinced. I'm officially a Kustomaniac now.

Man, I wish I could. Truly! Two weeks ago, I took a week off to go to Kentucky. I run a one man eyeglass repair operation. When I'm gone, the business is closed and the optical shops that refer folks to me get all weird. When the business is closed, the money I use to buy Kustom gear stops flowing. When the money stops flowing and I can't jump on a deal when I run into it, I get real pissy. When I get pissy, my wife gets all weirded out.
So, as an outpouring of love for my wife, and for her general mental health, and for the general mental health of the optical community in northeast Texas, it's best that I not make it to this one. But let there be no doubt, I am soooooo envious of those of you who are going to make it.
Can't wait for pics and news.

Reminds me of a story....................
Rod and his buddies were discussing an upcoming Kustom trip. Unfortunately, Rod had to tell them that he couldn't go this time because his wife wouldn't let him. After a lot of teasing and name calling, Rod headed home, frustrated.
The following week when Rod's buddies arrived at the Kustom Gathering to set up, they were shocked to see Rod. He was already sitting at the Show with a cold beer, swag rolled out, Guitar in hand, and a Stoggie glowing.
"How did you talk your missus into letting you go Rod?"
"I didn't have to," Rod replied.
"Last week when I left our meeting, I went home and slumped down in my chair with a beer to drown my sorrows. Then the ol' lady snuck up behind me and covered my eyes and said, 'Surprise'."
"When I peeled her hands back she was standing there in a beautiful see-through negligee and she said, 'Carry me into the bedroom and tie me to the bed and you can do whatever you want!'
"So, HERE I AM!!"
It could Happen Rod!

Mercy! You must know my wife!!!! As many times as she's been tied to the bed, there's no way she'd tell me that! LOL
