hello, I just picked up my second Kustom head in as many weeks. This is a Kustom 2 [in roman numerals] B-11. From what I can tell it is 60w rms, 2 channel with 4 knobs each, vol.,clarity, bass, and treble w/bright. I would like to find out what the speaker impedance should be and maybe how old this is. The serial number is 127219. Thanks, Will

Welcome!
It wants a 4 ohm load to output its full 60 watts, and if you do a site search you will find a serial number list.
My guess would be its a late 73 to 75 era amp.

Thanks a lot for the info Steve, the amp is in great working order and I have tried both bass ang guitar thru it and i am very impressed with it. This is a hell of an amp for 70 bucks. Now I think I will shop around for a decent 15in and throw together a cabinet for it.

Hey willc68,

Your Kustom II serial number 127219 was made about May 1975.

Hello Les, Thanks for the info. I have not had a chance to open this up yet, but I would normally check the pot codes to ballpark the age on the USA stuff. Thanks again and take care, will

Note that it will be real hard to find a 15 inch driver that is 4 ohms which will be needed to get the full 60 watts out of the head.
8 and 16 ohm drivers are by far more common.

Thanks for the speaker info guys. The fact that getting a 15 with 4 ohms would be difficult never really occurred to me. I guess running 2 at 8 ohms in parallel would be the easiest solution. I most definitely will just go with 2 separate boxes cause of the weight factor and I came across a bunch of pine boards at work. It has been years since I bought any new speakers this size and I would appreciate any input on what might be some good 15 inch speakers. I would like to not go over 250 for the pair.

My Kustom 2 Bass head appears to be from the '74-'76 era (based on another thread here - ser. 118xxx) and I'm wondering about it's output (watts & ohms) bacause I'm hoping to pick up a lighter smaller cabinet to use w/ it rather than the 1x15.

As far as what I can find on the amp in regards to its output is: 50 WRMS Output / FREQ 60 Hz .
