I'd like to hear opinions on cleaning old Kustom circuit boards with an ultrasonic cleaner.

Not a quality ultrasonic cleaner designed for that purpose, but a $50 Harbor Freight ultrasonic cleaner.

What liquid cleaning medium might be used?

I do not see a need for such!
At times when I have had a board coated with dust and even spilled beer or soda residue I have simply removed the board and scrubbed it down with warm denatured water with 3 drops of liquid soap in it and a tooth brush and then let it air dry overnight after a clean water rinse, hey but it's your money!

While I don't think that it would hurt anything on the boards, I'm with Steve here, I doubt that they would need it.

The worst case scenario is when an amp has been sewer flooded and has been coated with unknown chemicals and biologicals carried by the flood water. I've seen boards that have parts that have been eroded and corroded by whatever they were exposed to during a flood.

In these cases the boards should be rinsed in clean water or scrubbed with a little dish soap and water and then thoroughly rinsed in clean water.

Drying can be done with compressed air, hair dryer or just a fan. In any case the boards need to be fully dried before repowering.
